THE FRAME
We make all our furniture and upholstery frames in house and have done since 1969. We believe that the foundation of every exceptional piece of furniture lies in its frame. We are so proud of our hand-crafted frames that you’ll see one on display in our London showroom. Our commitment to quality craftsmanship starts with the careful selection of quarter cut Beech, Oak, Utilie and Walnut from responsible sources. Our current collections include over 400 designs and each frame can be altered to accommodate your own design or dimensions. For example, altering the seat height on a dining chair to fit perfectly with your dining table. Our team of skilled artisans draw on time-honoured traditional cabinet techniques which together using dowels, organic glue and corner blocks, enables us to offer a 40 year construction guarantee on all our frames. This meticulous attention to craftsmanship and detail ensures every curve, joint, is executed to perfection, resulting in a beautiful foundation for your new piece of furniture.
CRAFTING COMFORT
We understand the importance of comfort. Over the last 50 years our master craftsmen & women have methodically built up each piece, employing time-served traditional techniques and using materials to create unrivalled comfort. From individual hand tied springs, to coir, hessians, the softest lambs wool and loose curled hair, we select materials that not only provide a firm and supportive base but also enhance the longevity of your furniture. Depending upon the design, our unique FeatherBuild™ method builds in the softest feather and down into our furniture to ensure an extra layer of indulgence, allowing you to sink back and relax into possibly the most comfortable chair or sofa you will have sat in.

Our commitment to handmaking the finest upholstery is seen in our finish. From hand polishing all our show woods so the beauty of the grain comes through or our meticulous hand buttoning to create a sumptuously deep buttoned back, you can rest assured that our skilled team of artisans will always achieve flawless results in any of our designs. Every element of the finish is thoughtfully considered and expertly executed, resulting in beautiful furniture that is built to last a lifetime. A true testament to traditional craftsmanship.
